Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in “Immortal regiment” campaign

On May 9, with 45, 000 people Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov led the “Immortal regiment” movement in Kazan. People were carrying portraits of their relatives, who took part in Great Patriotic War.

Rustam Minnikhanov was carrying the photo of his father – Minnikhanov Galimzyan Minnikhanovich, who went to war at the age of 19 and died on December 15, 1941 near Moscow.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev was carrying the photo of his father Shaimiev Sharip Shaimukhammatovich, and Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin  - the photo of his father Mukhametshin   Khairulla Dinkaevich.

The route of “Immortal regiment” movement was laid through Kazan National Cultural Center, Pushkin street, Freedom square, Lobachevsky street, Kremlevskaya street, and the 1st of May square.
