Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in meeting of Tatarstan State Council

On July 11, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin, members of the regional government and other officials took part in the 30th session of Tatarstan State Council of the fifth convocation.

Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin, who was holding the meeting, on behalf of members of the State Council congratulated all those present and First President of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Revival Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev personally on the inclusion of the Assumption Cathedral and the monastery of the island-town of Sviyazhsk in the UNESCO World Heritage List during the 41st session of the World Heritage Committee held on July 9, 2017 in Krakow, Poland. He also noted that Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the republic, Executive Director of the Revival Founation Tatyana Larionova has made a great contribution to this achievement.

Today's meeting approved the text of an appeal of the regional State Council to Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated by a group of people's deputies. As noted at the meeting, the appeal is related to the agreement between Russian and Tatarstan on the delimitation of powers, which expires at the end of July this year.

Chairman of the Civic Chamber of the republic Anatoly Fomin made a report on the state and development of civil society institutions in Tatarstan in 2016.

The meeting considered 21 issues included on the agenda by suggestion of the Presidium of the State Council of the republic.
