Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

On August 14, State Counsellor of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of trustees of the Regional Foundation “Revival” Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting at the place of the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The historical cathedral will be reconstructed by the order of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

The project will be implemented with the auspices of the Regional Foundation “Revival” which coordinates and control the activity of agencies and organizations carrying our construction, reconstruction and archeological works at the site.

Items of Orthodox godliness that were found during complex archeological studies at the Virgin Monastery of Kazan in 2017 were presented to Mintimer Shaimiev and metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan.

Director of the Institute of archeology named after A.Kh.Khalikov Airat Sitdikov told that employees of the institute continued archeological field works in July and August.

Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, Deputy Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office - Head of Secretariat of State Counsellor Oleg Glebov, Director General of “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Adel Khusnutdinov took part in the meeting.
