Opening ceremony and first plenary session of Youth model of the UNESCO World heritage Committee was held in Kazan today. The session was chaired by RT State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with participation of RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has attended Sabantui celebrations in Kazan. He visited the central maidan in Mirny settlement. Among the distinguished guests of the holiday were State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, first deputy RF Minister of defence Nikolai Makarov, RT Vice-premier – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, RT Vice-premier Asgat Safarov, Mayor of Kazan Islur Metshin and others.
Complex of White Mosque was opened in Bolgar within the framework of anniversary of official adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria today. The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, RT State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and leaders of the Islamic clergy took part in the solemn ceremony.

Modern ethnographic complex has opened in island-town Sviyazhsk on the territory of the Stable yard. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in the opening ceremony of the restored architectural monument.
Hundreds of people have come to the Kamal theatre to say goodbye to a distinguished Tatar actor, People’s Artist of USSR, People’s Artist of RSFSR, People’s Artist of TASSR, laureate of State Prize of Russian Federation named after K.S.Stanislavsky, laureate of State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G.Tukay Shaukat Biktemirov.
