A substantial increase in the Taneko oil refining and petrochemical site construction was despite bad weather achieved in February. The Taneko general director Khamza Bagmanov said it in a statement to a construction staff meeting, attended by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The meeting of the RT Security Council chaired by Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev was held at the Kazan Kremlin on March 9. The central issue on the agenda was the Programme of the development of the oil and petrochemical complex of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2010-2014.

The first forum of the Tatarstan Transkama region's junior public organisations will on March 11 be held in Naberezhnye Chelny. The inaugural event is held at the initiative of the Council of Junior Organisations of Tatarstan public organisation branch. The purpose is to set up an effective liaison, cooperation and coordination system for junior public associations in the Transkama region of Tatarstan.
