Rustam Minnikhanov meets Adam Stifter

On May 28, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Consul General of Hungary in Kazan Adam Stifter.

Stifter welcomed Shaimiev in Tatar and said that the Hungarian and Tatar people have long-standing historical relations, there are many common words and it helps in learning the Tatar language.

Stifter said that on October 15-19 of the current year, an international conference on the history of the ancient Hungarians is planned to be held in Kazan.

Archeologists from different countries, including Hungary, will take part in the conference and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary are planned to participate.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary along with problems of strengthening contacts in the sphere of culture, education and science, as well as interaction in the sphere of preserving the cultural and historical heritage.
