Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in special session of Tatarstan State Council

On February 27 Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a special session of Tatarstan State Council of the 4th convocation.

The address of Tatarstan State Council (Parliament) was accepted at today’s session.

“Tatarstan State Council expresses deep concern about socio-political and economic situation, criticizes violent actions and announces that making decisions to please certain groups and their penetration to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is inadmissible. We call oppositions for resolution of national conflicts in a peaceful way, using political and diplomatic methods.”

Members of Tatarstan Parliament call all Ukrainians, Russian and Tatar people for maintaining inter-ethnic peace, renunciation of radical ways to resolve conflicts, and Crimean authorities - for absolute condemnation of power methods used by all parties of the national conflict.

“We stand for strict observance of constitutional and legal status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and use of peaceful mechanisms of the supremacy of law and secure principles of observance of human rights enshrined in main UN documents.”

“There are a lot of forms of work justified by life to resolve this acute political situation and first of all the situation should be solved using diplomatic methods. It is a sovereign state. I believe that it stands to reason that the delegation of the Federation Council and State Duma go to the Crimea to hold negotiations. The Russians and Ukrainians are civilized people. Whatever our attitude is, it is their internal conflict”, Mintimer Shaimiev said speaking at the session.

Tatarstan State Council also decided to send a delegation of members of Tatarstan Parliament to the Crimea to meet with deputies of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and hand over the address.

Razil Valeev, Viktor Budarin, Rinat Zakirov, Robert Minnullin and Rafil Nugumanov are on the delegation.
