Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in a summing up meeting of Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food

On February 13, speaking at a summing up meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov called the venue of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, where the meeting was held, an excellent exhibition centre.

State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the republic Ekzam Gubaidullin took part in the meeting.

Minnikhanov also thanked Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov and all those who took part in the preparation of the summing up meeting of the industry and the organization of the exhibition of farmers.

Tatarstan President focused on several significant issues of the agro-industrial complex of the republic, mentioned in the Minister’s keynote report.

In particular, Tatarstan President said that one of the main issues is to ensure the sowing campaign with high-quality fuel at a reduced price.

“Our large enterprises, Tatneft Oil Compamy and TAIF Group of Companies have already supplied 1 million 200 thousand tonnes of fuel since 2010. If we did not have our own refining, production of diesel fuel, gasoline, the situation would be worse. Let us thank the fuel suppliers,” Minnikhanov said.

Akhmetov reported that the gross agricultural product of the region amounted to 376 billion roubles, including 160 billion roubles in the food industry and 216 billion roubles in agriculture, or 13.3 per cent of the gross regional product in 2018.
