On April 26, in the Tukay park in Kazan, on the day of the 133th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the poet was held.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the regional State Council Farid Mukhametshin, heads of ministries and agencies of the republic, people’s deputies of the State Council of the republic, cultural and art workers of Tatarstan also came to pay the tribute to the memory of the Tatar classic.
Later on today, a ceremony to celebrate the Day of the Native Language will be held in a new concert hall named after Ilgam Shakirov at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Complex.
