Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on issues of construction and reconstruction of certain objects in Bolgar

Tatarstan’s State Counselor, Chairman of Supervision council of the Republican fund for historical and cultural monuments revival Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on issues of constructing protective structures over certain objects, reconstruction and development of the territory around the Sacred Spring Complex “Gabdrakhman sekhabe koesy” (Gabdrakhman’s well) in Bolgar.
Mintimer Shaimiev noted that outcomes of the UNESCO World heritage Committee session that was held in Russia (St.Petersburg) for the first time, and the visit of experts involved in Bolgar and Sviyazhsk projects confirmed priority importance of observing requirements specified by UNESCO in the context of works on restoration of the historical heritage.
Mintimer Shaimiev set up immediate tasks to be fulfilled by the “Revival” Fund in Bolgar.
Firstly, all design documentation for construction of protective structures over certain historical objects recently found by archeologists must be prepared by the middle of August.
He noted that the problem of preservation of discovered objects is considered to be urgent all over the world. He also told about his recent visit to France where he had seen archeological excavations in Chartres city implemented at early objects of the Gallic-Roman period (the 1st millennium BC – the beginning of the 1st millennium AD).
The second task is reconstruction and development of the Sacred Spring Complex “Gabdrakhman sekhabe koesy” (Gabdrakhman’s well).
Director General of GUP “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Adel Khusnutdinov presented projects of protective structures over ruins of pottery (the middle of XIV century) and banya (the beginning of XIV century) located on the Volga river bank in the vicinity of the River station and the Museum of Bulgar civilization. Both buildings were destroyed in 1361.
The projects were approved and are now to be checked by the International expert council of the “Revival” Fund.
Ways of preservation and demonstration of a fragment of the ancient Bolgar building found by archeologists near the Cathedral Mosque were also discussed at the meeting.
Aide to RT President, CEO of the Republican Fund “Revival” Tatiana Larionova, Chief of the RT State Counselor Secretariat Zyavdat Salikhov, Head of Spassky municipal region Kamil Nugaev, Deputy Minister of culture Svetlana Persova, Chairman of OAO “AKIBANK” Board Ildar Galyautdinov, Director of the State historical-architectural art museum “the Kazan Kremlin” Ramil Khairutdinov, Director of the State Bolgar museum preserve Rafail Makhmutov, Director General of ZAO “Tatar special scientific restoration department” Yuri Egorushkin, Chief of the Center of Bolgar archeology of the Sh.Marjani institute of history Renat Valiev and other officials took part in discussion of the projects.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
