Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on issue of creating permanent exposition at the museum of Sviyazhsk history

Tatarstan’s State Counselor, Chairman of Supervision council of the Republican fund for historical and cultural monuments revival Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on issue of creating permanent exposition at the museum of Sviyazhsk history of the State historical-architectural art museum “Sviyazhsk island town” in the Complex of government buildings. The meeting was held at the Kazan Kremlin.
Restoration works were fulfilled in the Complex from June 2010 till May 2011 by JSC TAIF. On May, 15, 2011, when the Complex was opened, the Agreement on cooperation in the context of the object museumification was signed by the RT Ministry of culture, JSC TAIF and the Republican fund for historical and cultural monuments revival.
The creation of permanent exposition using modern museology technologies is the next step in this matter.
Director of the State historical-architectural art museum “Sviyazhsk island town” Artem Silkin demonstrated video presentation of the project.
The project developed by design studio Aibat includes three buildings. The main one will present exposition about the history of Sviyazhsk of XVI-XIX centuries. The second building which was used as a prison will contain expositions dedicated to the history of Sviyazhsk prisons and judicial system from XVI century. On the second floor visitors will see tragic events of the period of repressions of XX century.
Expositions of the third building will show the period of civil war and modern history – revival of Sviyazhsk.
The museum exposition will include both traditional and modern methods of museum environment formation.
JSC TAIF Deputy Director General Vladimir Malafeev told about funding of works on creating permanent exposition of the Sviyazhsk museum. In general, the project was approved by attendees of the meeting.
Mintimer Shaimiev stressed that Sviyazhsk island town is suggested for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List as “Sviyazhsk historical-cultural and landscape complex.”
Aide to RT President, CEO of the Republican Fund “Revival” Tatiana Larionova, Deputy Minister of culture Svetlana Persova, Director General of GUP “Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt” Adel Khusnutdinov, Director of the State historical-architectural art museum “Sviyazhsk island town” Artem Silkin, Director of the State historical-architectural art museum “the Kazan Kremlin” Ramil Khairutdinov, Head of Sviyazhsk settlement Vladislav Chetverkin took part in discussion of the project.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
