On July 12, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met Consul General of Turkey in Kazan Ahmet Sadyk Dogan, who is completing his diplomatic activity in Tatarstan.
Dogan is the eleventh General Consul since the opening of the Consulate General of the Turkish Republic in Kazan in 1996.
Speaking at the meeting, Consul General of Turkey noted that it was a great honor for him to work in Tatarstan, in the Russian Federation. “During my diplomatic mission, I tried to do everything to strengthen cooperation between Turkey and Tatarstan, attaching great importance, above all, to trade and economic relations and cultural interrelations,” he said.
He thanked Shaimiev for supporting his activities and active participation in the development of cultural relations between the Tatar and Turkish peoples.
During the talks, the most significant joint events over the past year and a half were noted, some problems of preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the Turkic peoples and areas of cooperation in science and education ffields were touched upon.
Shaimiev thanked Dogan for his successful work in Tatarstan and for his great personal contribution to the development of Russian-Turkish relations, and wished success in his further diplomatic activity.
