At the meeting of the Russian President with his agents Tatarstan’s State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev suggested that representatives of national republics should participate in development and adoption of bills.

Such information was given by Mintimer Shaimiev at a meeting with journalists at the Kazan Kremlin. He mentioned that earlier the Chamber of nationalities had operated in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It dealt with interests of different peoples of the USSR.

The first President of Tatarstan supposes that it will be the only civilized solution of many problems connected with interests of many nationalities. “It is impossible to defend interests of national republics by common voting in the RF State Duma,” he said.

Mintimer Shaimiev said that the arrangements had been reached to determine the form of work and submit it for approval.

“Social and economic problems can be considered whether it is a national republic or a region. We should pay special attention to educational and cultural issues,” Tatarstan’s State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev said.

“National issue is the President’s concern. No one but the President can solve this problem. Millions of decision can be made but the result depends on the attitude to this issue and understanding,” Tatarstan’s State Counselor concluded.
