Russian President Vladimir Putin has send a telegram to the State Counselor of the republic and its First President Mintimer Shaymiyev congratulating him with his 85-th

Congratulating Mintimer Shaymiyev with his 85-th birthday, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has said in his telegram. 

““Dear Mintimer Sharipovich! Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your 85-th birthday! Your work and all your life are closely tied with your native Tatarstan. Everyone who has had a chance to work with you marks your exceptional professional and personal qualities, wisdom and simplicity, friendliness and ability to lead a dialogue.

Being at the head of the republic at the turning point of the history, you were not afraid of difficulties and pursued you principals and convictions, showing an example of well-balanced and constructive approaches to solution of the most difficult and acute problems. Huge creative contribution into the social and economic development of the region,  into maintaining its cultural and spiritual traditions has brought you the highest public authority and acknowledgement all over our vast country. And your projects aimed at resurrection of Christian and Muslim monuments has without exaggeration become a visible symbol of strengthening values of peace and concord which Tatarstan is famous for. 

I wish you and your close ones good health and all the best”.

By his decree Vladimir Putin also awarded Mintimer Shaymiyev with the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle for his outstanding merits for the state and longtime fruitful public work.
