Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev have attended the Sabantuy site in the Mirnyy settlement in Kazan
On 19 June Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev and the honorary guest - the Governor of Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and regional Minister of Agriculture Marat Zyabbarov attended the Tatar national holiday of Sabantuy in Kazan
The guests visited the farmsteads of Kukmor municipality and looked round the sites organized by Alekseyevsk, Zainsk and Nurlat regions of the republic. In one of the farmsteads Rustam Minnikhanov met the Tatarstan Chief Rabbi Itskhak Gorelik and his wife.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the holiday, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “From the bottom of my heart I thank the capital of the republic Kazan for holding the holiday. This year Sabantuy is held in 58 regions of our country and 35 foreign states. This is a wonderful possibility to demonstrate the identity of our people and their culture. And this holiday is for everyone We are sincerely grateful to all our guests and today we have them from Turkey and Kemerovo and many other cities. I wish you to be cheerful and optimistic, success and flourishing to our country. Especial gratitude to Kazan for what it is doing for the good of the republic! Have a nice holiday!”
In his welcoming speech the Mayor of Kazan expressed his gratitude to rural workers for their hard labour.
Addressing the participants of the holiday, the Governor of Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev said: “What a wonderful holiday Sabantuy is! It successfully travels all over our vast country and has even gone beyond it. Yesterday we were in Ulyanovsk where I was happy to receive a perpetual trophy of holding the federal Sabantuy in Kuzbass in 2023. Thank you so much for this! I look at this holiday and understand that it touches hearts of people and not only because it is beautiful and cheerful but as it speaks to our souls, corresponds to our living principles. Namely love to our Motherland, our family, labour and our children. I congratulate all of you and invite to Kuzbass next year!”
