Copy of Paul I boat installed in island-town Sviyazhsk

On July 12 Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of guardians of the Regional Fund “Revival” Mintimer Shaimiev and Adviser to Russian President Igor Levitin took part in the opening ceremony of a new monument, exact copy of Paul I boat, in island-town Sviyazhsk.

The monument was installed on the bank of the Volga river in front of Sviyazhsk river-boat station. The boat was recreated on initiative of Igor Levitin.

Speaking at the ceremony, Igor Levitin emphasized symbolic character of the event. “Today is the feast of St. Peter and Paul. Russian Emperor Paul I was named after one of the saints,” Advisor to Russian President said.

Igor Levitin thanked creators of the boat for their specimen work.

Tatarstan State Counsellor thanked Igor Levitin for his participation in Sviyazhsk reconstruction on behalf of Tatarstan President and presented the Letter of gratitude of the Revival fund and Book of benefactors.

Mintimer Shaimiev and Igor Levitin were accompanied by Aide to Tatarstan President on Social Issues, CEO of Regional fund “Revival” Tatyana Larionova, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, Head of the Executive committee of Zelenodolsk municipal district Alexander Tygin and other officials.
