Mintimer Shaimiev meets with representatives of Turkish radio and TV corporation

On August 30 Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Guardians of the Regional Revival Fund Mintimer Shaimiev met with representatives of Turkish radio and TV corporation (“Türkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumu”, ТRТ) at the equestrian sports complex “Kazan”.

At first, the guests shared their impressions about Kazan Kremlin. They were very delighted with Kul Sharif mosque. Mintimer Shaimiev told about the history of reconstruction of the mosque and the activity of the Revival Fund. He invited the guests to visit the ancient city of Bolgar to see new White Mosque.

Director of TRT Ibrahim Shahin told Mintimer Shaimiev about programmes and projects on preservation of historical heritage of Turkish Republic. He said that he heard a lot about activity of Mintimer Shaimiev in the post of Tatarstan President and as founder of Revival Fund.

Also, prospects of cooperation in the sphere of culture and arts were discussed during the meeting. Mintimer Shaimiev noted that cultural relations between Tatarstan and Turkey have been developing dynamically over the last years. However, there are still a lot of opportunities for their further development, particularly, in the sphere of television and radio broadcasting.

To the point, the delegation of TRT corporation arrived in Kazan yesterday. The cooperation Agreement between Turkish radio and TV corporation and OAO “Tatmedia” was signed today in the morning.

The guests also met with Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Minister of Culture Airat Sibgatullin, visited TV and radio company “Novyi vek” accompanied with Director General Ilshat Aminov and took part in TV programme “Tatarlar”.
