Mintimer Shaimiev attends an exhibition “Heritage and Traditions”
On 18 July the Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the regional Revival Fund, visited an exhibition of arts and crafts “Heritage and Traditions” which opened the day before in the Kazan Kremlin Chambers as a part of the International festival “The Renaissance: epos in modern interpretation.”.
The exposition was organized by the regional public organization “The Creative Union of arts and crafts artists”, and the Director of the Union Sergey Kolomiytsev and a member of the State Duma of VII convocation Natalya Pilyus told Mintimer Shaimiev about the exhibition history and participants.
One of peculiarities of the exhibition is the diversity of arts and crafts pieces, such as lacquer miniatures, porcelain and china, stone- bone and word carving, jewelry and others, in total more than 400 works of artists from Tatarstan Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Altay, Moscow, St-Petersburg, Nenets Autonomous region and others.
The Tatarstan State Counselor expressed his admiration of the masterpieces and said they are examples of the revival of centuries-old arts and crafts of ethnicities of our country. “The exhibition enforces the main idea of our festival being held in Bolgar these days - the revival of spiritual heritage of our peoples”, he emphasized and thanked the organizers and participant of the exhibition for their creative work and attention to Tatarstan.
