On April 4, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Antiterrorist Commission of the republic which took place at the Representative Edifice of the Kazan Kremlin with participation of the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, permanent members of the Commission, heads of executive bodies, heads of Kuybyshev and Gorkii Railways and Transport Prosecution of the Volga region, heads of the transport infrastructure, transport and road economy.
Participants of the meeting discussed stepping up antiterrorism measures for protection of transport infrastructure facilities and public transport located in the republic.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that lately Ukrainian special services demonstrate increased interest to transport infrastructure facilities and industrial enterprises all over Russia, including Tatarstan.
“It is important to take into consideration that for organizing terrorist acts they are actively recruiting young people through the Internet,” he emphasized and reminded that maximum mobilization and coordination of efforts are very important today.
“We must carry our assessment of the level of antiterrorist protection of regional road economy and transport infrastructure facilities and to develop measures for its improvement,” the Rais of the republic stated.
