Mintimer Shaimiev: “Chingiz Aitmatov is a phenomenon, his works are world philosophy and heritage”

On October 25 Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Kyrgyzstan Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Sultan Raev, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia Bolot Dzhunusov, sister of Chingiz Aitmatov Roza Aitmatova, film director and scriptwriter Bolot Shamshiev, and other members of Kyrgyzstan delegation that came to Kazan to take part in events dated 85th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov.
The guests will take part in research and practice conference dated to anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, opening of the exhibition of Kyrgyzstan photo artists “Universe of Chingiz Aitmatov”, opening of the exhibition “Spiritual support of the nation”, presentation of the book “Stories of Chingiz Aitmatov” and visit the ancient town of Bolgar.
Mintimer Shaimiev said that Chingiz Aitmatov interpreted philosophy of life through rich moral and spiritual traditions, national customs of Turkic people, thus showing great potential to pass to another generation.
Mintimer Shaimiev told about his last meeting with Chingiz Aitmatov. Roza Aitmatova, in her turn, told about work on commemorating the name of Chingiz Aitmatov, in particular, restoration of the house in Sheker village where the famous writer was born and grew up.
Roza Aitmatova presented a book of her memoirs “White pages of history” dedicated to her father, Torekul Aitmatov.
Kyrgyzstan Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Sultan Raev told that the International forum devoted to Chingiz Aitmatov will be held this year on November 14 in Bishkek.
Mintimer Shaimiev said: “Chingiz Aitmatov is a phenomenon, his works are filled with world philosophy. There are always popular and become even more important in a modern hectic world as the years go by.”
Deputy Prime Minister, Plenipotentiary of Tatarstan Republic in Russia Ravil Akhmetshin, Deputy Chairman of State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, Head of State Counsellor’s Secretariat Evgeny Grishin took part in the event.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
