Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimive lay flowers to the monument of Aleksandr Pushkin in Kazan
On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
The ceremony is dedicated to the celebrations of the Russian Language Day and 226th birthday of Aleksandr Pushkin and before its beginning creative teams of the city recited his poems and performed musical pieces by Russian classic composers.
Representatives of creative intelligentsia, teachers, school children as well as the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the regional Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova, the Minister of Science and Education of the republic Ilsur Khadiullin and other officials also took part in the ceremony, upon the end of which Rustam Minnikhano and accompanying him persons went to a ceremonial event held in the Theatre.
