Mintimer Shaimiev congratulates Gennady Zakharov on his 80th anniversary

On March 16, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated Gennady Zakharov, who worked as Chairman of Bank Tatarstan in 1988-2010, on his 80th anniversary. Zakharov is now the President of Chess Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Shaimiev said that he had known Gennady Zakharov for 53 years.
“Gennady Nikolaevich is a very talented person, who loves people very much. No social system can change his character and love for mankind. He is a very intelligent manager. Thank you for devoting all your life to interests of our republic. Tatarstan has become your second Motherland," Shaimiev said.
Mintimer Shaimiev conveyed greetings from Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, and Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, and handed over Letter of commendation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov for long fruitful work to Gennady Zakharov.
Manager of Bank Tatarstan Rushan Sakhbiev said: “Gennady Nikolaevich is a very responsible person. I think there is no person more interested in results of the bank’s work. He analyses quarterly reports with our financial indicators, and not only because of his politeness, he is really interested in everything that is happening at the bank. Gennady Nikolaevich is still involved in our work.”
Sakhbiev presented a coin with Gennady Zakharov depicted on it.
Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Khalil Shaikhutdinov handed over the badge of honour – “High achiever of physical culture and sport of the Republic of Tatarstan” to Gennady Zakharov.
Employees of Bank Tatarstan rose in applause in honour of Gennady Nikolaevich.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
On 28 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a plenary session of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress held with participation of about 1 thousand delegates from 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan’
