On September 18, at the voting station №55 at Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and his wife voted at elections for the State Duma of the Russian Federation. As all voters Shaimiev was given a bracelet “I voted!”.
Talking to journalists, Shaimiev noted: “We are facing tough times in political and economic spheres. With this in mind, those who will be elected shoule be responsible as never before. Heads of some parliamentary parties, who have been elected to the State Duma for several times, said nothing new during this election campaign. There was much populism and unrealistic promises. Therefore, whoever is elected to the State Duma, the party should become more responsible, if possible.”
