Mintimer Shaimiev congratulates Tatarstan women on the International Women's Day

On March 6, at the Saydashev State Great Concert Hall in Kazan, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a solemn meeting dedicated to the International Women's Day and summing up results of the regional contest "Woman of the Year. Man of the Year: Women's View".

As many as 750 guests were invited to the meeting, among them are representatives from all cities and regions of the republic, distinguished guests, winners of district stages of the contest, as well as activists and members of public organizations.

This contest has been held in Tatarstan for more than 20 years. The regional public organization "Women of Tatarstan", the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the republic, Commissioner for Human Rights in Tatarstan and the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan are its founders and organizers.

The contest is held in three stages, including selection in municipalities, district stages and the final in Kazan with the participation of representatives of the leadership of the republic.

This year, more than 700 people took part in the competition. In total, 130 people became finalists of the district stages. The regional judges of the contest selected 19 winners of them for today's event.

On behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the leadership of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated all women of Tatarstan on the International Women's Day and thanked them for their work, patience, beauty, love and kindness.

Then, Shaimiev handed in diplomas and valuable gifts to winners of the contest in the nomination “Woman - Mother”.
