The Rosnano commission selecting nanotechnology centres projects has held a meeting. As the result, 12 applications were admitted, that are to undergo a scientific-technology and investment expert examinations. The list includes the application from JSC Innovative Production Technopark Idea, Tatarstan. The open competition for nanotechnology centres projects selection had been launched by Rosnano on December 17, 2009. Applications will continue to be received until April 15, 2010. The total budget of the nanotechnology centres project is 24.1 billion roubles, with co-financing from Rosnano of 12 billion roubles, which means the state corporation and partners’s equal contribution. The commission decided to reject four applications of the 17 sent in, due to their incompliance with the competition’s documentation standards. One application was revoked by the applicant. The winners are to be known before the end of March, following all the of examinations.
The delegation of Tatarstan, led by Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, will make a working trip to India. The main purpose of the trip is to attend the ceremonial launch of a Kamaz auto assembly plant. The ceremony takes place on February 25 on the grounds of the Bangalore Palace (Bangalore, India). According to the Aide to Prime Minister on external economic affairs Iskander Muflikhanov, assemblies are to be performed by the Kamaz Vectra Motors Limited joint company. Vectra is a British-Indian firm that has solid production grounds (Hosur, state of Tamil Nadu) and an expertise from working in auto business.

A delegation representing the World Health Organisation in Russia, led by the WHO Russia official representative Dr Luigi Migliorini is visiting Kazan. An international forum dedicated to a healthy lifestyle, including control over tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, physical education and screening, with the assistance of the World Health Organisation, is in May planned to be held in Kazan.
The Naberezhnye Chelny’s official website, www.nabchelny.ru, has become the winner of the 10th Russian internet competition called Golden Site 2009, in the Cities nomination. The Golden Site contest is the first Russian internet competition. Golden Site is a competition that constantly develops. Each year, the jury chairman decides which sites are the best for the moment in Russia’s site-building. This year, a total of over 1.5 thousand websites in 35 nominations had been submitted to the competition. The best were selected by the jury’s chairman, organising committee, and through a last years’ participants and guest experts’ voting.
The Republic of Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin takes part in session of the Russian Legislators Assembly under the State Duma today. Tatarstan State Council press-service informs that the procedures of considering the federation subjects’ legislative initiatives at the State Duma’s spring session and joint tasks are discussed at the session. The event is held with participation of the Russian parliament lower chamber head Boris Gryzlov.
Organization of the All-Russian Agricultural Sports Games-2010 will open new development prospects, Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov said at the session of the competitions organizing committee. The games will be held in Yelabuga on July 8-13, 2010. 4 thousand sportsmen from 88 subjects of the Russian Federation will participate in competitions in 16 sports, including specific agricultural competitions of milkers, mechanizers, mowers and rowing.
February 24, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Arsk Municipal District where he took part in the plenary meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan that was dedicated to the results of the agroindustrial complex in 2009 and tasks for 2010.
