April 22, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting of the Presidium of the RF State Council. The participants of the meeting chaired by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev discussed issues of improving the preconscription training system and development of the respective concept through 2020 including physical and moral and psychological training of those called up for military service.

April 20, RT Minister of Informatisation and Communication Farit Fazylzyanov and head of the Directorate of information technologies of the Kazan Executive Committee Vitaly Utkin met with head of Hewlett Packard in Russia Owen Camp at the Centre of high technologies in Moscow.

Turkmenistan is receiving first consignments of Russian KAMAZ trucks under a contract signed between the ministry of trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan and OAO KAMAZ. A total of 1040 KAMAZ trucks and special equipment will be supplied to Turkmenistan. KAMAZ vehicles will be distributed among all regions and the capital city of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) said.

By the decree of the president of Republic of Tatarstan Valery Vlasov was appointed as minister of forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. The former head of the ministry Zufar Abdullin was relieved of his post due to a new appointment.

The Days of Germany with a motto of Future together are held in Kazan from April 20 to 26. The Days will include several events, the RT ministry of Culture reports, starting with an opening of the exhibition of posters dedicated to the youth. Consultations and guided tours will be organized, and German teachers will receive various teaching materials.
