A solemn event dedicated to unveiling of the bust of the Minister of Forestry of TASSR Aleksandr Gulyaev was held in Kazan at the Ministry of Forestry.
At a session of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that preparation for Universiade is underway in accordance with the schedule. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, heads of federal ministries and agencies and sports federations participated in the session.
On March 10 Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Naina Yeltsina, widow of the first Russian President B.N. Yeltsin.
On February 21, at the 38th session of Tatarstan State Council members of the Parliament approved the bill “Concerning the introduction of amendments to Law of the Republic of Tatarstan “On state symbols of the Republic of Tatarstan” in terms of approving the text of State anthem of the Republic of Tatarstan. Before the session, musical and poetic composition had been performed by the State symphonic orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan and the choir of Musa Dzhalil Tatar State academic opera and ballet theatre at S.Saidashev big state concert hall.
