On April 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, and other officials attended the official awarding ceremony of the winners of the State prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after Gabdulla Tukai at M.Dzhalil Tatar academic opera and ballet theatre. Three writers became prize winners.

On April 22, at the 3rd Congress of the Peoples of Tatarstan, Head of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov handed over the Order of Merit for the Republic of Dagestan to the First President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev for his great contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation and developing economic and cultural ties between Dagestan and Tatarstan.
