RT President, chairman of OAO Tatneft Board of Directors Rustam Minnikhanov chaired a session of OAO Tatneft Board of Directors held in the House of the RT Government.

The agenda of the session included the company’s budget performance in January and February, approval of the budget for April and the second quarter of 2010, as the discussion of the results of financial and economic activities of OAO Tatneft in 2009 as well as the implementation of the anti-crisis program.

In 2009, 25,850,400 tones of oil were recovered at the company’s oilfields. 280 operating oil wells were commissioned, oil production made up 422.6 thousand tones.

Over the reported period, as many as 23 new wells were drilled on territories of the Russian Federation outside of Tatarstan.

An oil deposit was found in Syria and 4 test wells were drilled. 2 test wells were drilled in Libya.

The total volume of investments by group of companies Tatneft taking into account construction of oil-refining and petrochemical plants Complex TANEKO made 104.3 bln rubles.

While the country’s economy is recovering after the crisis, OAO Tatneft continues working to increase efficiency of production and optimization of exploitation expenses.

The information on introduction of new technologies for the development and exploitation of deposits by OAO Tatneft was also presented at the session.

The goals of stabilization and raising oil production determine a key strategy of OAO Tatneft - adoption of advanced technologies in the whole oil production cycle. It implies the system of development, drilling, exploitation of oil deposits, major repairs of wells, methods of increasing oil extraction.

The Bugulma-based TNG Group oil geophysical company, the successor to JSC Tatneft subsidiary Tatneftegeofizika, has won a competition for geophysical well exploration in the Volgograd region for Lukoil Volgogradneftegaz. The works are to be performed by TNG Nur GIS, the location is the Pamyatno Sasov field.

Besides, the Rosneft oil company entrusted the Tatarstan-based firm with conducting seismic exploration at fields in Udmurtia, and the Magma oil company in the Khanty-Mansi autonomous region. The UralOil company has, based on the results of the competition, selected the TNG Group as the contractor, to perform the field and laboratory work, using the non-longitudinal vertical seismic geophysical profiling technique in the Perm region. The TNG Group seismic explorers have obtained one more contract after wining a tender held by JSC R Vnedrenie.
Four Tatarstan fencers have been included in the Russian team line-up for the world championship among juniors and cadets. The tournament will take place in Baku on April 2-10. Athletes will compete for 18 sets of medals, Russian fencing Federation press-service informs.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has sent a telegram of condolences to Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov following the explosions in the Moscow Metro. "On behalf of the Tatarstanians and on my own behalf I extend heartfelt condolences to the families of victims of the tragedy," the telegram of the head of the republic reads.

Day of Europe events are held in Tatarstan capital for the whole week, that’s why the festival has extended a time line of one day. However, by tradition, organizers – the European Union Delegation to Russia, EU embassies and cultural centres with assistance of Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science and Tatarstan President’s Department for International relations – decided to keep a name Day of Europe (not Days of Europe).
The construction of the first start-up unit at the Taneco oil refinery and petrochemical plants site is as of now completed 70 percent, JSC Taneco general director Khamza Bagmanov told a news conference at the construction headquarters. According to Bagmanov, the refinery plants’s construction in Nizhnekamsk has so far been financed for 135 billion roubles. In 2010, 50 billion roubles is planned to be disbursed. The first start-up unit is scheduled for launch on October 10, 2010.
The competition called "Generation 20 Years After the Berlin Wall's Fall" for Russian online journalists and bloggers has today been announced at the Day of Europe festival that opened in Kazan. The EU delegation to Russia head of the department of press and information Denis Daniilidis called for joining the project and talking about the role of Russia in Europe and its relations with the European Union.

According to Daniilidis, the competition is held within celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Entries are admitted until June 10, 2010. The winners will be granted unforgettable trips to European cities, Berlin, Brussels and others.
The Tatarstan Industry and Trade Ministry on March 26 held a meeting, dealing with the Republic of Tatarstan’s representations’ economic operations in 2009 and areas for partnership in 2010. The acting industry and trade minister Ravil Zaripov delivered a keynote report on the Tatarstan representations’ economic activities in 2009 and areas for cooperation in 2010. Tatarstan’s foreign trade in 2009 totalled $13.5 billion, the lead held by Italy, Turkey, Poland, the Netherlands, Belarus and Germany. Based on preliminary estimates, an 8-percent growth in external trade is predicted for 2010.

On March, 26 the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov accepted the resignation of the RT Cabinet of Ministers and charged the republican government with power to continue its activity until the new government is appointed. Respective ordinance was signed by RT President.
Tatarstan State council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin meets Head of the European Union Delegation to the Russian Federation Fernando Valenzuela today at the republican parliament. Head of the European Delegation arrived in Tatarstan capital as part of the Days of Europe in Kazan.
