In hands of teachers - future of country

According to the established good tradition the First persons of the republic congratulated Tatarstan pupils and students on the beginning of new academic year. On Day of knowledge, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev became the guest of honour at the Kazan state pedagogical university.

Today, within the precincts of this higher educational institution - one of the oldest in Russia - in 12 faculties, and at Naberezhny Chalny branch it is being trained over 10 thousand students. And "the good and the eternal " in hearts and minds of the future teachers are sowing almost 600 magisterial staff. Only for last 10 years the university has graduated more than 14 thousand high quality experts for educational establishments of the republic.

Opening a solemn meeting before main building of KGPU, rector, professor Zjamil' Nigmatov with sincerity has congratulated students and lecturers on the beginning of new academic year. The success and patience in mastering knowledge wished President of Tatarstan M. Shaimiev to the future teachers . On behalf of the Government, State Council and from himself personally he warmly congratulated on Day of knowledge not only pedagogical collective and students of this deserved university, but also all workers of education of republic, parents, whose children this day have occupied educational audiences of institutes or sat down at the school desks.

Then in an assembly hall of KGPU a solemn assembly devoted to Day of knowledge was held. In the republic, M.Shaimiev noted, sufficient material resources in sphere of education was set up. Only 9 percents out of 2506 schools of republic demand our intervention regarding reconstruction or erection of new buildings. The first stage of a computerization of schools is over as well. Now, the point is already about creating necessary communications so that by 2007 the school of republic would have an opportunity to get to the Internet, make use of cable TV. However, high-grade educational process is impossible without qualified teachers. In this sense the pedagogical university preparing high quality pedagogical staff, by right may be named a basic university in this sphere, M.Shaimiev said. Having touched a financial position of teachers, RT President marked, that a leadership of the republic, to the best of their ability, tries to do the utmost in this field.
