August teachers' conference raises a plank

Republican August conference of heads of educational bodies of regions and cities of the Republic Tatarstan (Teacher's conference ) entitled "Improvement of education quality in modern conditions of development of information technologies " was held in the city of Naberezhny Tchalny.

The president of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev who joined the work of conference, congratulated all the gathered with coming new academic year and thanked people working in sphere of education for a hard work, daily care about young Tatarstanians, for patience and a fidelity to profession. Though hundred-per-cent success in educational process is uneasy to achieve, but nevertheless we have managed to reach considerable achievements, the President said. So, in Tatarstan, comes 1 computer per 36 pupils. So far we are lagging behind world standards (1 computer per 10-12 pupils), but we steadily are approaching nearer to the fixed objective. Probably, already very soon all settlements of republic will be connected to the Internet.

Work of today's conference is directed on improving quality of training and education of schoolboys, M. Shaimiev emphasized. Certainly, in sphere of education there are for a while remain a lot of problems - low salary, absence of habitation for young teachers, and at times incapacity of teachers to operate with the computer. As to the salary since May in our republic the young teachers have been receiving the 30-percentage extra charge to the salary, and in October the salary of state employees in Russia is to be increased by 33 percents.

Problems of young teachers with habitation will begin to be solved this year. We are adopting mortgage form of financing habitation, M.Shaimiev said. And this system would be accessible to people having a middle living standard. Today in Tatarstan 10 thousand teachers stand in a queue for habitation. Probably, this year they will be able to receive the 20-years credit with 8 % annual interest rates. Moreover, teachers should not be bound to make initial payment. Such conditions are difficult for finding even in Russia.

Today in republic it is totaled more than 2500 schools, but 9 percents of them – dilapidated, therefore construction of schools in Tatarstan goes ahead. By results of work of annual August conferences in republic social - psychological and social - pedagogical services are open. At the conference such vital themes, as introduction of a healthy way of life for schoolboys, increase of their educational level, perfection of information technologies and many others are annually mentioned. It is impossible to overestimate an importance of subjects of August conference discussed this year.

By 2010 reduction of number of pupils by 23 percents is expected, but meanwhile in the republic growth of birth rate for the second year is observed . And though this parameter so far does not exceed growth of death rate, the main thing is to go through this period, because later the situation will change to the best M.Shaimiev concluded.
