Mintimer Shaimiev: “Verses by Robert Minnullin are exceptionally kind and coming from the heart”
On 5 September Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and the Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin took part in a ceremony of opening a memorial plaque to the People’s Poet and a famous political and public figure Robert M. Minnullin, put on a facade of a house in Tolstoy Street in Kazan, where the poet spent last years of his life.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mintimer Shaimiev noted that Robert Minullin was born in Ilishev region of Bashkortostan which borders Aktanysh region and these places have always competed with each other including the creative work.
“It is gratifying that our republic has many outstanding writers and poets loved by people, Robert Minnullin has a special talent and his verses are exceptionally kind and coming from the heart. His wonderful children’s book “Kuchtenech” was awarded the State Award named after G. Tukay. In his time he received nearly all awards of the republic in literature”, he said.
Mintimer Shaimiev recited his own verses dedicated to Robert Minnullin and written as a farewell to him.
“Robert left a deep imprint on our life. He was a person who loved people and a big poet both for children and adults, he did not have any boundaries in his creative work. He was very closed to people and his readers. For many years he was a people’s deputy and won a universal respect, which he undoubtedly deserved,” he stated.
Mintimer Shaimiev thanked everyone who came to the ceremony and concluded: “In the future we should also remember our outstanding people and do everything for perpetuating their memory as they are sent to us by the All-Mighty”.
Farid Mukhametshin said that the public initiative of putting a memorial plaque to the outstanding poet was supported by the administration of the republic. “There is no doubt Robert Minnullin was a descent representative of his people. In the most difficult years of formation of new Russia the firm position of Tatarstan always relied on the opinion of such people’s deputies as Robert Minnullin,” he stressed.
Then all participants of the ceremony laid flowers to the memorial plaque to the famous poet.
