December 31, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev congratulated the people of Tatarstan on New Year. He marked that the year of 2007 was one the most successful years. He said we managed to gain momentum of the social and economic development and lay firm foundation for the future. Mintimer Shaymiev sincerely wished everybody health, happiness and well-being.

December 31, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev signed the laws of the Republic of Tatarstan on introduction of amendments to the laws of the RT “On the budget of the compulsory insurance foundation of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2007”, “On the sites of cultural heritage in the Republic of Tatarstan” and “On the specially protected natural territories”.

December 27, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated the young guests of the republican New Year Tree party held in the Basket-hall. As many as 5500 young people of Tatarstan – 7-11-grade students, school activists, A-students, winners of festivals and sport competitions, as well as 2 thousand school age children from Tatarstan cities and districts got together for the main New Year Tree party of the republic.
