On February 25, at an extended session of Tatarstan Presidential Council for inter-ethnic relations at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is important to organize work with young people in this sphere. Chairman of Russian Presidential Council for the development of civil society and human rights, Counsellor to Russian President Mikhail Fedotov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Deputy Presidential envoy in Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko took part in the event.

On February 25, at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and Chairman of Russian Presidential council for the development of the civil society and human rights Mikhail Fedotov exchanged opinions about an extended session of Tatarstan Presidential Council for inter-ethnic relations held at the Kazan Kremlin today and discussed problems of state national policy and strengthening of inter-ethnic concord.
On February 25, Kazan citizens said farewell to a famous party and state figure of the republic, Chairman of the Council of ministers of TASSR (1996 – 1982), first Secretary of Tatar regional committee of the Communist party of the Soviet Union Gumer Usmanov.

On February 18, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Chairman of State Council, CEO of “Revival” Foundation Tatyana Larionova, Mayor of Zelenodolsk Alexander Tygin, Head of the Institute of Archeology Airat Sitdikov took part in opening of the second exposition at the Museum of History in Sviyazhsk. The event was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the “Revival” Foundation.

Presentation of awards of the International festival “Let’s do sports all together” was held at the State Theatre of Film Actor in Moscow. Bronze angel statuettes were handed over to laureates, participants of important events, who committed heroic deeds to protect honour and dignity of people and state using their sports skills, actively promoted sport in different spheres of state and public activity and got most positive review in mass media. The award was handed to the first President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev for preventing escalation of violence in solving problems with Crimean Tatars during annexation of Crimea by Russia.

On February 10, at a session of Tatarstan Security Council “On improving the system of general education in the Republic of Tatarstan” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that providing quality education throughout the republic is the main task of the system of general education for the short-term. Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, members of Tatarstan Security Council, heads of ministries and agencies, municipalities, universities, took part in the session.
