On January 17 Tatarstan State Counsellor and Chairman of Guardian Council of the Regional Foundation of Revival of Historical and Cultural Mintimer Shaimiev presented 4th volume of the Book of benefactors and letters of gratitude at the Kazan Kremlin.
On January 14 a number of state awards presented to Tatarstan representatives by the Presidential Decree No. 18 dated 14.01.2014 of the Russian President. Tatarstan Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev was awarded with the 4th class Order “For Merit to the Motherland”.
The Olympic Torch Relay ceremony Sochi-2014 finished in Tatarstan near Kazan Arena stadium on December 31. The Olympic cauldron was lit on the stage near Kazan Arena stadium. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the ceremony.
On December 26 Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the 47th session of Tatarstan State Council.
On December 25 at the 8th congress of the Council of municipalities Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted an important role of local self-government in accomplishment of the objectives faced by the republic. Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, deputies of Russian State Duma, members of the Federation Council, Tatarstan Government, and delegates from 956 municipalities took part in the event.
On December 24 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in a solemn event on summarizing results of regional public contest “Manager of the year 2013” at Korston hotel.
On December 17 at an extended session of the Council for interethnic and interconfessional relations Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan leadership intends fighting illegal migration, and at the same time is ready to support law-abiding foreign citizens willing to live, study and work in the republic. He noted as well that citizens are concerned about migration issues and this problem also refers to authorities and law enforcement bodies.
