Alfa Fellowship Program grant holders are visiting the Tatarstan capital under the aegis of the Committee of External Relations and Tourism of Kazan from March 30 to April 2. As part of the visit, the guest got acquainted with Kazan attractions and learnt about the tourist and economic potential of the city.
Tatarstan table tennis championship starts on April 1 at the sports complex “Olympietz”, which has been constructed for the World Universiade-2013 in Kazan. Some 80 sportsmen from Almetyevsk, Mamadish, Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhniye Chelny, Saby and Bavly Regions of the Republic of Tatarstan are expected to participate in the competitions.
JSC Tatenergo sets up a new company to sell thermal energy. The JSC Tatteplosbyt subsidiary is established through separating from another subsidiary, JSC Tatenergosbyt. The release published today on the occasion of the important event reads that the new company is set up pursuant to the decision made by the Tatenergosbyt sole shareholder, JSC Tatenergo. The Tatteplosbyt founder is Tatenergosbyt, the new firm’s legal address is the same as Tatenergosbyt’s.

March 31, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov signed laws on introduction of amendments to the Code of administrative infractions of the Republic of Tatarstan, on freedom of conscience and religions associations and on people’s artistic handicrafts and trades.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Venera Ganeyeva, People’s Artist of Russian and Tatarstan, at the Kazan Kremlin on March 31.
March 30, Timur Akulov, the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs –Aide to the RT President on international issues, met with the delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Russian Federation led by Wilko Roggenkamp, the Head of the Economic Affairs Section.
About 500 residents in Kazan have today paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the terror acts in the Moscow metro on March 29. At 7:57 am today, the time of the first explosion, a mourning meeting began at the central Bauman street. A total of 39 candles were lit up, to coincide with the number of the people killed by the blasts at the Park Kultury and Lubyanka metro stations. The meeting’s participants held posters reading “Terrorism Is A Threat to the World”, “We Are In Mourning”, “People, Be Vigilant” and “Terrorism Has No Nationality”.
The first stage of the Universiade-2013 Village will be commissioned in Kazan by September 1, 2010. Some 8 thousand students will move into the new residence. 8 objects of the World Student games will be put into operation in the near future, Vladimir Leonov informed.
Vice-President of UNESCO International Commission for Scientific Education, Professor Janchai Yingprayung will pay a visit to Kazan on April 1 - 4. The purpose of his visit is participation in the festival of scientific-technical ideas and projects “Nauka-Fest” (“Science-Fest”). Professor Janchai Yingprayung will read out lectures for teachers and gifted children of Kazan schools, present virtual teaching opportunities in a school educational social network, and meet with scientists from the city universities.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov signed the laws of the Republic of Tatarstan on the State Counsellor of the Republic of Tatarstan and on introduction of amendments in articles 75, 76 and 94 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The first law determines the status, appointment procedure and competence of the State Counsellor of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The second law is on conferring the right of legislative initiative in the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on the State Counsellor of the Republic of Tatarstan and clarifies the powers of the State Counsellor and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan when appointed on this position.

The texts of the law will be published in the press.
