A traditional exhibition called Russian Timber is being held in the city of Vologda. JSC Kamaz and its official partner in the Vologda region Kamaz Leader are presenting new models of timber transport vehicles, reports the company’s press service.
The construction of an East Auto Station has commenced in Kazan. A space of 1.3 hectares on the Agrarnaya street has been allocated for it, told Tatar-inform the Central Auto Station director Andrey Khotkin.
Four helicopters Mi-17 manufactured by JSC Kazan Helicopters have been shipped to Egypt. JSC Kazan Helicopters will make as many as 24 Mi-17 helicopters for Egypt which will get them by mid-210.
The Zelenodolsk ship-making plant named after Gorky will host a ceremony to launch a class Gepard 3.9 frigate on Saturday December 12.

This frigate is one of two built by the plant for Vietnamese Navy, the representatives of which will be present at the ceremony. The second frigate is expected to be launched in 2010.
A meeting of the organizational committee on preparation for the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic War 1941-1945 took place at the Kazan Kremlin on December 11. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev chaired the meeting.

The plenary meeting of the Youth Forum of the Republic of Tatarstan ‘We can!’ took place at the Korston Complex in Kazan on December 10. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev addressed the participants of the meeting with a speech.
Unfortunately Rubin Kazan lost in a decisive match of the Champion League to Inter Milan 2:0 and no longer takes part in Europe’s major football tournament. However, Kazan football fans will soon watch next Euro Cup matches. Barcelona has beaten Dinamo Kiev 2:1 helping the Kazan team become third in the group. Rubin Kazan will start 2010 with matches in the Europe League.
Russia’s Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina on December 9 held several working meetings with special economic zones residents, discussing the zones management and development, as well as funding projects submitted by residents. Attendee at the meeting was a delegation representing the Rosez branch in Tatarstan and tenant companies in the Alabuga special economic zone.
A World Bank consultation group is on December 7 to 11 conducting meetings with Tatarstan-based innovative entities. On December 9, the reputable financial institution delegates met with tenants at the Idea technology park in Kazan. Attendees at the meeting were the Module Engineering general director S. Parshin, Engineering Implementation Centre commercial director A. Mamedov, Active Systems technical director A. Schukin and other company officials.
The Universiade 2013 first facilities will be commissioned in 2010 and by the new academic year populated with students, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roustam Minnikhanov told the Tatarstan 6th Congress of Students’s plenary meeting.

“Our plans include completing before the new academic year the first section of the Universiade village, so that students from other towns can live there,” noted the head of government. “Many students will first be able to live in the Universiade village and after the Universiade 2013 finishes, in a campus.”

While speaking about the construction of the upcoming World Student Games 2013 sports venues, Roustam Minnikhanov said another 6 to 7 sports centres were before the year end to be launched, and another 12 to 13 sites by the May holidays next year. “We are going to complete the bigger part of the Universiade 2013 sports venues by the end of next year, except the 45-thousand soccer stadium and the Aquatics Palace,” the head of government shared. “We need to complete the entire Universiade complex in 2011.”
