On March 6, Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Audrey Azoulay, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan, was met by Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation, UNESCO Special Envoy for intercultural dialogue Mintimer Shaimiev at the Kazan International Airport.
On February 13, speaking at a summing up meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov called the venue of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, where the meeting was held, an excellent exhibition centre.

On February 6, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Revival Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on the concept of a multilingual educational complex in Kazan.
On January 14, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, Head of Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage of Russian Ministry of Culture Roman Rybalo, Head of the Committee Ivan Guschin and other officials took part in a summing up meeting of the regional Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites, which considered the work done in the republic on the preservation, use, promotion and state protection of cultural heritage sites in 2018 and set tasks for 2019.
On December 10, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Heroes of the Fatherland, celebrated annually on December 9 in Russia, was held at the Kazan City Hall.

On November 7, in Kazan, in the park near the Musa Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and other officials took part in the solemn unveiling of the first Russian monument to an outstanding ballet dancer, choreographer Rudolf Nuriev.
