Rustam Minnikhanov: We try to take care of every veteran today

On May 7, at M.Dzhalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, members of Tatarstan Government, employees of regional ministries took part in a solemn event on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Victory in WWII.

On April 27, at a ceremony dedicated to start of construction of a hotel complex in Bolgar (the Republic of Tatarstan), Acting President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that construction of new hotel complex will make Bolgar more attractive for tourists. State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Director General of OAO “Tatneft” Nail Maganov, Director General of OAO “TAIF” Albert Shigabutdinov took part in the event.

First president of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev expressed his gratitude to Head of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov for naming one of the streets in Nazran after him.
The street named after Mintimer Shaimiev opened in Nazran
On April 2, the street named after Mintimer Shaimiev opened within the framework of days of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Nazran (Ingushetia). It was a big holiday for local citizens. The main street of Nazran,one of the biggest cities in Ingushetia called “the heart of native land” by the Ingush, was named after the first president of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.

On March 25, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated a 87-year-old veteran of WWII Nazip Galimardanov on his 70th anniversary and handed over the medal “70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945”.

On March 16, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated Gennady Zakharov, who worked as Chairman of Bank Tatarstan in 1988-2010, on his 80th anniversary. Zakharov is now the President of Chess Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan.
