On April 27, at a ceremony dedicated to start of construction of a hotel complex in Bolgar (the Republic of Tatarstan), Acting President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that construction of new hotel complex will make Bolgar more attractive for tourists. First president of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev expressed his gratitude to Head of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov for naming one of the streets in Nazran after him.
The street named after Mintimer Shaimiev opened in Nazran
On April 2, the street named after Mintimer Shaimiev opened within the framework of days of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Nazran (Ingushetia). It was a big holiday for local citizens. The main street of Nazran,one of the biggest cities in Ingushetia called “the heart of native land” by the Ingush, was named after the first president of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.

A famous public and political figure died on March 9, 2015.

Mintimer Shaimiev meets Naina Yeltsina
On March 8, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met Naina Yeltsina – the widow of First Russian President Boris Yeltsin. She arrived in Kazan to visit final matches of the International Junior Tennis Tournament “Yeltsin Cup” that was held in Kazan for the 5th time. The tournament is organized by the Presidential center of B. N. Yeltsin, Kazan Tennis Academy and Russian Tennis Federation.
