President of Tatarstan: In the Chechen Republic and outside it there many worthy people, capable to lead the republic

In the Chechen Republic and outside it there are many worthy people capable to lead the republic and represent it as equal subject of the Russian Federation, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev stated in interview to "Interfax".

" These people are both among the deputy corps and among businessmen and representatives of the Chechen intelligentsia ", - M.Shaimiev holds.

In his opinion, the future president of the Chechen Republic should enjoy prestige among the majority of Chechens, and at the same time his nominee should be acceptable to the federal authority. " During elections of the future Chechen leader we should proceed not from the fact who has more machine guns and militarized groupings ", - M. Shaimiev added.

" Chechen people should have an opportunity independently and freely to elect the future president. Free elections is indicator of a level of democratic society, and we have no right to depart from it - M.Shaimiev noted.
