Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

Today is a special day. 15 years ago on 30 August 1990 the Declaration of the state sovereignty of the Republic of Tatarstan was adopted. From that time we celebrate every year the Republic Day. Today we also celebrate widely the 1000-years anniversary of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the pre-jubilee year we received high guests from different countries of the world, and during recent days presidents of CIS countries, governors from the Russian regions and President of Russia Mr.Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin visited the republic. We are grateful to them especially to the President of the Russian Federation, who was at the head of the state Kazan millennium committee for attention and respect.
On the background of the terrorist attacks in different corners of the world, we became the symbol not only of tolerance, but also of mutual understanding, friendship and consent. This is our invaluable experience.

We can be proud of our city history where the world acknowledged personalities lived and worked.

Today Kazan is still one of the leading scientific-technical, industrial centers of the Russian Federation.

I would like to express the deep gratitude for the contribution to the development of the city and Republic, for your support and understanding of the problems during the preparatory period of 1000-years anniversary.

I congratulate you warmly on the Day of the Republic and on the millennium of our capital Kazan.
