Fifteenth anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan

On behalf of the State Council and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and speaking personally I would like from all my heart to congratulate you on the occasion of the Day of the Constitution of Tatarstan.

At all times, the Constitution has been a synonym of a developed state system, civicism, democratic rights and freedoms. The highest principles have always underlined the important documents of this kind reflecting the noble goals of the state and societal development.

In the same way the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan was coming into being 15 years ago. Today, it has become evident that in spite of all difficulties and contradictions of that period, a serious political struggle over issues of the establishment of the republic’s new state system, we managed to create an accurate and worthy document.

Today, the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan ensures a high status of the republic in the framework of the Russian united political and legal field, unlocks the enormous potential of true federalism.
