Mintimer Shaimiev: charitable actions have created the atmosphere of good, mercy and compassion in Tatarstan Forming a positive attitude of the society to charity is one of the most important tasks that the Tatarstan leadership faces in the Year of the Family, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev told Interfax.

“The first half of 2008 – the Year of the Family – was marked by a rally of charitable rallies “The second breath”, “giving blood, you save a life”, “Peace will come to my home” and others,” the head of the republic said.

He went on to say all of they are to support families who have children with genetic pancreatic diseases, school age children with cancer and to promote gratuitous donor movement. “In recent years, thanks to our efforts, we managed to involve the people of the republic in the common atmosphere of good, mercy and compassion,” Mintimer Shaimiev underlined.
