May 22, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Aleksandr Braverman, the Director General of the Federal Fund for assistance to housing construction development, at the Kazan Kremlin.

The meeting of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev and Head of the Federal Agency of state property management was held at the Kazan Kremlin on June 22.

On May 20, Boris Pavlov, RT first deputy prime-minister, lead a meeting on production for state needs of a short-haul aircraft. Andrey Pukhov, director of civil aviation programs of JSC “United aircraft construction corporation” (Obyedinennaya aviastroitel'naya korporatsia) informed of the plans to produce 6 lettered TU-334 aircraft at JSC “Kazan Aircraft Production n.a. S.P.Gorbunov” (KAPO im. S.P.Gorbunova).

Architectural studies/internship grants of the mayor were awarded in Kazan city hall on May 21. City mayor Ilsur Metshin personally handed diplomas to the winners. This competition took place for the third time. Previous finalists studied in Swiss modern urban construction arts institute of Jose Asebillo Marin, internships in Eric Van Egeraat studios in Holland and Hungary, as well as British Atkins and American NBBJ architectural companies.

10^th International congress of the Russian association of allergy treatment and clinical immunology specialists opened up in Kazan on May 20. This year it is dedicated to 100 years anniversary of Andrey Ado, initiator of the Russian allergology movement, member academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, who started his work in Kazan medical institute.

Tatyana Larionova, social issues advisor to the RT President, RT healthcare minister Airat Farrakhov, rectors of Kazan's medical colleges attended health care experts meeting dedicated to prophylactics and lowering child mortality, organized by respective RT ministry specialists. Newborn mortality is down 7.3, child mortality – 13 %. Other positive trends include 6% decline in general adult mortality (all reasons included).

JSC “Kazan international airport” reconstruction issues were considered at a meeting in RT ministry of transport and roadside infrastructure today. The attendees were presented draft general plan of the airport, as well as a sketch plan of the new passenger terminal with 1 mln 200 thousand passengers per year airport capacity. Airport development project was prepared by German Dorsch Group.

May 20 saw an extraordinary event taking place in Tatarstan's National Museum. Princess Ksenia Yusupova, the representative of the famous aristocratic family, came to Kazan to take part in the presentation of the exhibition 'History of the family of princes Yusupovs. Kazan - Peterburg - Paris'.

The delegation of the Ivanov Region, led by the governor Mikhail Men, has today arrived in Tatarstan. The purpose of the visit is to decide on building a textile industrial cluster with the participation of Tatartsan’s oil, gas and petrochemical companies, and to sign an agreement on modernising the textile industry through integration with the petrochemical sector.

The meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, and the Governor of the Ivanovo region, Chairman of the Government of the Ivanovo region, Mikhail Men, took place at the Kazan Kremlin on May 20. After the meeting, the parties signed intergovernmental Agreement on modernization of the textile industry of the Ivanovo region on the basis of integration with petrochemical enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.
