The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, received a letter from the President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge. At the IOC Olympic Order Council in Lozanne it was decided to award Mintimer Sahimiev with the Olympic Order for the outstanding contribution to the development of the Olympic movement.

December 20-23, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, signed the law on the balanced budget of 2009 and the planned period of 2010 and 2011 and a number of laws of the Republic of Tatarstan regulating territorial borders of districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.

December 19, the Chairman of the Russian Government, Vladimir Putin, was on a working visit in the Republic of Tatarstan. The main aim of Vladimir Putin’s working trip to Tatarstan was a visit OAO KAMAZ for the meeting on the development of the automobile production in Russia.

December 17, the meeting of Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Sergey Chemezov, Director General of "Rostekhnologii" State Corporation was held in Kazan Kremlin.

The 43rd meeting of the RT State Council of the 3rd convocation started early on December 15. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev, attended the meeting.

December 11, the joint meeting of the Council under the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District and Staff of the RF Security Council was opened in the city of Penza at the House of Government of the Penza Region.
