Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in the meeting of the Academic Council of Kazan State Agricultural University
September 1 has seen the meeting of the enlarged Academic Council dedicated to presentation of Kazan State Agricultural University. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev attended the meeting. He thanked professors for keeping traditions and marked that the new status sets new tasks to Kazan State Agricultural University.

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, the head of Federal Agency on physical culture and sport Vyacheslav Fetisov, and editor in chief of “Sport” TV channel Vasiliy Kiknadze opened the festival “Sport Planet” on Millennium Square of Kazan. “Welcome to Sportstan!” – the hosts of “Sport” TV channel - commentator Dmitriy Guberniev and world champion in rhythmic gymnastics Yana Batirshina opened the sport-concert program. Then honoured guests of the festival appeared on the stage.

On August 29, members of the Second Meeting of the Group of the “Strategic Vision: Russia-Islamic World” arrived in Kazan. Representatives of more than 15 countries including Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will take part in the forum.
Mintimer Shaimiev met with Nikita Mikhalkov

On August 29, after the solemn meeting in “Pyramid” Cultural Center President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with the President of the Cinematographers Union of Russia famous film director Nikita Mikhalkov. Issues of the establishing of film studio in the republic were discussed at the meeting.

On August 29, in “Pyramid” Cultural Center President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev gave grand reception on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan. The celebration in honour of the laureates of the state premiums of republic named after Gabdulla Tukai took place at the solemn meeting.

On this day President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated him and presented Evgeny Bogachev with an "Order of "Merits for the Republic of Tatarstan".
