On November 14, at the meeting with Mintimer Shaimiev in the Kazan Kremlin, Chairman and CEO of the United Technologies Corporation George David said about the arrangement to place up to 25% of the production volume of new engines for Kazan helicopters MI-38 and Ansat on the basis of the Kazan Motor-building Production Association. George David offered the support on the part of the world famous company Sikorsky Aircraft, a member of United Technologies, in selling the helicopters Ansat abroad.
The President of Tatarstan stressed that he had always supported preservation and further development of aircraft construction, because this sector is a base for further progress of Russia. In this connection, Tatarstan urgently needs opportunities for cooperation with foreign companies, for studying their experience.

We have to "synchronize watches" - was the preamble of the meeting between President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Chairman of Muftis Council of Tatarstan Gusman khazrat Iskhaki held November 2 in the Kremlin. As Gusman Iskhaki commented upon the results of the meeting, they tackled many issues, first of all, the holy month of Ramadan, starting on November 16. The republican Chief Mufti was greatly concerned with the fact that the Afghani conflict will hardly be settled by that time.
