The International Arbuzov Prize in the field of organophosphorus chemistry was delivered on October 23 in the Kazan Kremlin. This year's winner is the president of the French Chemical Society, professor of the Parisian Polytechnic School Fransois Mathey, one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century, well-known all over the world.

On September 14, 2001, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev together with his wife left on a planned short-term vacation for the Republic of Turkey. According to Article 115 of the RT Constitution, presidential functions are temporarily assigned to RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov.
The only thing I am afraid of and at the same time hope it does not happen is that this mega-act of terrorism in the territory of the world's leading power is to divide the peoples on national and religious characteristics and lead to the opposition of countries, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev told journalists, back from Moscow on September 12.
