Then, on the eve of the holiday, the contract between ZAO ЇMotor-Leasingю and ЇTumentransgasю company on the new modern engine NK-38Іs sale for leasing was signed.

The RF State Council met on August 29 in Moscow to discuss new approaches to education in Russia. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev in his speech highlighted the experience of informatization of educational process in Tatarstan schools.
After the meeting, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. V.Putin congratulated M.Shaimiev and all Tatarstan people on the holiday - Day of Republic and wished the multinational people of Tatarstan well being and success in construction of federalism in Russia.

"I would like Kazan to become an Islamic center in Russia, precisely a Mecca of Russian Islam", Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev said during his meeting with State Minister of Turkey Abdulhaluk Mehmet Cay on August 28, in the Kazan Kremlin.

On August 24 in Jalil settlement of Sarmanovsky district, oil industry workers celebrated production of 500 million tons of oil. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials took part in the event.

August 16, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met Bashkortostan President Murtaza Rakhimov in Aktanysh district of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the talks the grand memorandum was signed in which the basic results of realization of bilateral agreements on friendship and cooperation of 1991 and 1997 were committed. The document expresses the partiesІ desire to consolidate and develop bilateral relations on the basis of mutual consideration, equality, confidence and partnership, to determine priority directions of trade-economic, scientific and cultural cooperation of the two republics.

Participation in development of South American oil fields, Oka cars assembly production, export of tropical fruit and flowers - the Republic of Ecuador is ready to cooperate with Tatarstan in these spheres. This was discussed on August 14 during the meeting in the Kazan Kremlin of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador in the Russian Federation Mrs. Jimena Martines de Peres.

Prospects for cooperation in the field of aircraft construction were discussed on August 14 in the Kazan Kremlin at the meeting of RT President Mintimer Shaimiev with representatives of the KASKOL group (Moscow) and American consulting company "McKinsey".

The Chess Match "Tatarstan - Europe" devoted to the Youth Year in Tatarstan will become an event for all Russian sports, Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev said at the meeting with famous chess players. Among the participants of the meeting were international grandmaster among men and women Maya Chiburdanidze, international grandmasters Anatoly Karpov, Alisa Gallyamova and others who arrived for the match on August 14.
