The All-Russian public organization Union of "Unity" and "Fatherland" was transformed into the All-Russian party "Unity and Fatherland" (shortcut - "Unified Russia"). The decision was made on Saturday, December 1, by the delegates of the constituent congress organized in the State Kremlin Palace.
Sergei Shoigu, Yury Luzhkov and Mintimer Shaimiev were elected co-chairmen of the party.

November 29, 2001 was the closing day of the working visit of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev to Germany, in particular including negotiations with the leadership of the concern BASF.

During his working visit to Germany, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev accompanied by director general of OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" and director of OAO "Petrokam" Igor Avanesyan visited the enterprises of the BASF concern in the city of Ludwigshafen, where he studied the works and conducted negotiations with the leadership of this transnational corporation.
The present visit of the President of Tatarstan and conducted negotiations are aimed at defining which projects will receive a new incentive and which will be suspended, taking into account the world market opportunities.

In the evening, November 26, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev arrived in Germany with the working visit. On November 27, the President of Tatarstan visited the head office of the German company "Mineraloil - Rohshtoff - Handel" to discuss the perspectives of Tatarstan - German projects.

30 women from different cities and districts of Tatarstan were invited on November 24 to the Kazan Kremlin. That day - on the eve of Mother's Day holiday - President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev presented them with the medals of the Republic of Tatarstan "Ana Dany" - "Mother's Glory".

10-th anniversary of the district was celebrated on November 23 in Tyulyachi. It was marked by the opening of a new Palace of Culture and beginning of the local radio broadcasting.
President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Vice-president of the State Council Robert Minnullin, members of the RT Government, other officials took part in the celebrations.

The All-Russia meeting of heads of public safety militia of the Internal Ministry of Russia, Volga, Ural and Southern federal districts started its work today in Kazan, with participation of RF Minister of internal affairs Boris Gryzlov and RT President Mintimer Shaimiev. Heads of public safety militia from over 50 regions of Russia arrived for the meeting.

By growth of the number of passengers in 2001, Lufthanza division in Kazan ranked first among the company's divisions scattered all over the world. Lufthanza regional manager for Upper-Volga region and Siberia Ronald Shultz told Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev about it at their meeting on November 19 in the Kazan Kremlin.

60 best school students of Tatarstan, undergraduates and post-graduates celebrated their holiday - the International Student Day - in the Kazan Kremlin. All of them became owners of special state grants founded by the RT President's decree for those, who succeeds in academic and scientific activity.
Mintimer Shaimiev emphasized that public attention was attracted to the problems of youth and it will allow to assign certain items of expenses to these purposes through acceptance of appropriate laws.

On November 16, a harvest festival passed in Baltasi. In this harvest season, grain-growers of the district reaped 166 941 tons of grain and leguminous at average 53,7 centners per hectare. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev personally congratulated them on these achievements.
